CBD binds to endogenous receptors as part of our so-called endocannabinoid system (ECS) and thus enters our bloodstream. The chemical reactions resulting from the ECS control various processes in the body.

People like Bob Marley may be the first thing that comes to mind for many people when they think of hemp or cannabis.

But CBD, i.e. cannabidiol, has extremely diverse properties. A now very well-known feature is the medical benefit. In recent years it has become much better known in hemp and in a positive sense. Intensive research is being carried out into exactly how CBD works. The fact is that CBD, hemp oil and other ingredients do not have an intoxicating effect. The WHO also classifies CBD as harmless.

In the meantime, a total of 489 components of the hemp plant have been identified. Around 100 of these are phytocannabinoids, including CBD. Typical components are: tetrahydrocannabinols (THCs), cannabidiols (CBDs), cannabinols (CBNs) and cannabigerols (CBGs). Hemp also contains terpenes, falvonoids and other plant compounds.

Tetrahydrocannabiol has an intoxicating, psychoactive effect of cannabis. We will go into the difference between THC and CBD below.
